Without entrepreneurs, there is no growth. Without growth there are no jobs and without jobs there is no future
This is the theme of the research paper and video created to celebrate our first fifty years and presented during the 41st edition of the Forum “Intelligence on the World, Europe, and Italy”.
To mark this important event, we wish to make available our expertise, activities and networks in support of a theme of which Italy, and Europe in general, are in desperate need: entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship – of all types and on all levels – represents the most potent impetus for economic growth.
In order to find a way out of the crisis, Italy needs a cultural revolution. Rather than “looking for a job”, the new generations should start thinking in terms of “creating a job”. Unfortunately, today, in Italy only 5% of entrepreneurs are under 40 years of age, while no less than 20% are over 70. Also in this field, the country needs a generational pool that will give new impetus to the drive which, from the ’50s to the ’70s, transformed Italy into a world economic power.
The European House – Ambrosetti, which has been working side-by-side with entrepreneurs for fifty years now, helping them grow, has decided, through this study and a series of other activities, to help revive the desire to “do business” in the hope of inciting the younger generations to take a more proactive attitude, and of convincing them not to be afraid to transform their ideas into new businesses.
We have also made an inspiring film directed by Andrea Pezzi, presented during the 41st edition of the Forum “intelligence on the World, Europe, and Italy” and will be distributed to all schools in Italy. In addition, we are working on several concrete initiatives designed to promote a widespread entrepreneurial culture among young people.
